Equipment

Audi Q5 2.0 TFSI quattro, Australia

Interior
Harmon/Becker Automotive Systems produced Audi's new updated Multi Media Interface (MMI) technology for Q5. The new system includes navigation, communication, and wide-screen entertainment. A three-dimensional orientation view with true-to-scale terrain and photorealistic depictions of key landmarks will also be generated. Included features in this new system are USB storage media (iPod or MP3), satellite radio, and an integral four-band GSM mobile/cell phone(SIM card ready) with Bluetooth connectivity.
S line package includes 20-inch S line wheels, headlight washers, sport steering wheels with shift paddles, brushed aluminium inlays, S line aluminium door sills, and a black headliner. The Offroad exterior package includes front and rear underbody protection panels, along with flared fender and door sill protection.

Carrying and towing capabilities

A sensor informs the ESP system if a roof rack has been mounted, which will cause the Audi Q5's centre of gravity to be shifted higher in keeping with the roof load of up to 100 kg (220 lb). If a roof rack is present, the ESP engages earlier in the handling limit. Without a roof load, the driver is free to tap the full dynamic potential of the Audi Q5.
The Audi Q5 is capable of towing up to 2.0 tonnes; the standard hill descent control system makes it safe to navigate down steep inclines by regulating the preselected speed when driving at under 30 km/h (19 mph). The Q5 is also fitted with an advanced Trailer Stability Program designed to combat any unwanted snakeing when towing a large trailer or caravan.

Audi Cross Cabriolet quattro concept (2007)

It is a concept vehicle for the then upcoming Q5. It is a 2-door convertible with 3.0 TDI engine rated 240 PS (177 kW; 237 hp) and 500 N·m (369 ft·lbf), quattro permanent four-wheel drive, 8-speed automatic transmission, Copper Sunset body, LED headlights, 21-inch wheels with 265/35R21 tyres, seats with White Stone leather upholstery, MMI, 505W Bang & Olufsen sound system and internet radio, CDC (continuous damping control) shock absorbers, electric ride height adjustment (40mm), 380/356mm front/rear ceramic brake discs with 6-piston monobloc aluminium front, and floating rear callipers, Audi drive select.
The vehicle was unveiled in 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 3.0 TFSI V6 engine was rated 408 PS (300 kW; 402 hp) at 6000-7000 rpm and 500 N·m (370 lb·ft) at 3000-5500 rpm. Other features include ceramic brakes, active sound exhaust system, 90 millimeter wider track, 60 millimeter lower ride height, 21-inch wheels of 7 twin-spoke design, modified air intake, cooling water strut brace in engine compartment, stainless steel-plated pedals, S line sport seats, panorama roof system, "Wörthersee 09" adhesive film, textile floor mats with "Wörthersee 09" print application, Audi drive select vehicle dynamics system, parking aid with rearview camera, voice control, Audi lane assist lane change assistant, headlight range control with cornering lights.

Audi Q5 hybrid

Audi was originally reported that it would offer Q5 hybrid as launch model, but it was later reported that Audi suspended the plan because of unsatisfying crash test result for the nickel metal hydride batteries. In 2009, Audi announced it would resume the Q5 hybrid development.
The production version would be on sale in 2012 for Japanese market. The release in the U.S. market is scheduled for late 2011.

The Q3 combines a transverse engine layout with flexible steering and suspension offers. The Q3 will borrow many Golf Mk5, or possibly Golf Mk6, components, such as a Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG) dual clutch transmission and a 155 kW (208 hp) 2.0 FSI turbo engine featured in the current Golf GTI. The vehicle should also feature a 171 kW (229 hp) 3.0 turbo-diesel V6 & a 210 kW (282 hp) 3.6 FSI V6 for the flagship, the Q3S. While the Q3S should be available in both front-wheel drive (FWD), and quattro "on-demand" four-wheel drive variants, there will be no height-adjustable suspension, lockable differentials or low-range gearing, just larger wheels and a sports suspension. The Audi Q3 is a five-door compact coupe crossover by Audi that debuted commercially in 2011. The car uses the Volkswagen Group A5 (PQ35) platform of the Volkswagen Golf Mk5, the same as the Volkswagen Tiguan/SEAT Tribu small SUVs. The Q3 slots above the proposed Audi Q1 mini crossover. Compared to the mid-luxury compact Q5 and full-size Q7 which are positioned more for family practicality and off-road performance, the Q3 is aimed as more of a lifestyle/sports automobile. It was launched in the same model year as the BMW X1, a similar competitor.
The Q3 was designed due to declining sales of large SUVs, as well as growing demand for crossovers, particularly in Canada and the United States where station wagons are unpopular. The company is targeting niche markets to reach its ambitious sales targets, and the Q3 is part of these plans. The final production name will undergo change from "Q3" to another name due to an agreement with Nissan (through their luxury marque Infiniti) which places restrictions on Audi's use of the "Q" nameplate.Various Audi concept cars have debuted with the name "Cross Coupe" and this name is a possibility for the production Q3.

Production

Audi Q3 is a compact SUV that first appeared worldwide in April 2011. It is the smallest SUV by Audi and is hoped to be followed by a sibling Audi Q1 in the coming years. Audi is producing the Q3 in Martorell (near Barcelona, Spain), a plant founded in 1993 and owned by SEAT, Volkswagen Group's Spanish subsidiary  which in 1998 had been awarded as the "Best Factory of the VW Group in the first quarter".The first cars rolled out of the production lines in June 2011  while the decision to produce the Q3 to this plant shall give Audi the ability to produce around 100,000 units per year, with the cost of moving there for production rising to approximately €300 million.
By choosing the Martorell factory Audi has created 700 new jobs there. Wolfram Thomas, a SEAT Board Member for Production, said that “the Q3 represents the SEAT employees’ excellent preparation and premium-carmaking skills.” Frank Derves of Audi made similar remarks: “The Martorell factory is an extremely productive facility with a highly skilled workforce, and one that meets the exacting quality standards of our brand. The Q3 definitely gets the Audi seal of approval.
