The Isuzu Panther is a multi-purpose vehicle manufactured in Indonesia for the Asian market by Isuzu Motors. The model is suited to carrying large loads of passengers or cargo. It was developed to meet local conditions in terms of climate, roads and family structure as a durable vehicle. The Panther is also popular in the Philippines (known as the Hi-Lander Crosswind, which bested the diesel version of the Toyota Revo) and Vietnam.
The Panther is also manufactured and marketed in India under the name Chevrolet Tavera.
In the Philippines, the Crosswind is now in its second generation and still gaining popularity. It has a new style which makes it simple yet also sporty to look at. It is still powered by the 4JA-1 Diesel Engine, but was even better with the option of a 81hp, Normally Aspirated version or the 85hp, Turbocharged version. This second generation model is also equipped with Isuzu‘s Flex Ride Suspension System which promotes a comfortable ride while maintaining composure, durability, and high ground clearance. Variants are classified as either XL, XT (base models) which are equipped with either cassete with tuner, bench and side folding seats (XL), radio with CD and MP3 function, side and face folding seats (XT), XTI variant with a audio system with CD, MP3 and USB feature (remote included), 70–30 Split–Folding and Full Reclining 2nd row, front facing with fold and tumble seats, and top–of–the–line XUV with DVD system, 3“ monitors, and i–Pod interface, the same 2nd row seats of the XTI, the same 3rd row seats of the XTI, and the Sportivo with the same features of the XUV. All variants are not equipped with 4WD, despite of its SUV look, but all models are equipped with the Flex Ride Suspension System.
